GONNA BUY FIVE COPIES FOR MY MOTHER

The cover of the Rolling Stone was a pinnacle achievement for musicians from the late 1960's, and still is.  You can't listen to any oldies station for more than fifteen minutes without hearing somebody who didn't make the cover.  Brian Renner and P. T. Bridgeport have put together a list of music from cover people, but not necessarily their best known or more popular work.  We've got Pre-Coral Reefer Jimmy Buffett, Ladysmith Black Mombazo (fronted by Paul Simon), Pre-Lion King Randy Newman, The Two Peters (Townshend and Gabriel), the second incarnation of Steve Winwood and so much more.
