Beyond the Liner Notes, Lyrical Storytelling, April 26, 2019

You see, she was gonna be an actress
And I was gonna learn how to fly
She took off to find the footlights
And I took off to find the sky

Sometimes, songs can transport us with their music and lyrics, but even more unusually, it can tell us stories that move us.  This week Brian Renner and P.T. Bridgeport play some songs that tell a story – tall tales, winsome laments, and odd little moments that define us as human beings.  Music from Louis Jordan, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, and yes, Harry Chapin, among others.  Our guest playlist executive this week was Catherine Renner, who came up with a really interesting set.
