You could enjoy the taste of the good food now or wait to get the results that you have been wanting which will bring on a better feeling of enjoyment 

Instant gratification is basically lacking self-control, you feel as if you have to be rewarded now

You don't consider the positive outcome in the future because you want to be satisfied now
