  • Welcome to “well, That’s Show Biz!”. I am your host, Jeremy Freedman, and every week I bring you music from Broadway, Movies, and Entertainers along with some anecdotes, information, and commentary all based on a theme.

  • We have had excessive heat and rain this year and a friend suggested the theme of Weather. I have done some weather songs within other themes like Spring and Earth Day but never strictly weather. So upon his suggestion, today’s theme is Weather. For Set 1, I focused on The Wind. We are going to start off with “They Call the Wind Maria'' from Lerner & Loewe’s Paint Your Wagon. Next we will hear Patrick Wilson sing “Breeze Off the River” from The Full Monty. Then we will hear “Children of the Wind” from Rags. And then we will hear the instrumental song “Tornado” from The Wiz. And we will close out this Wind set with Judy Kuhn singing “Colors of the Wind” from Disney’s Pocahontas. Here’s “They Call the Wind Maria”.

  • You just heard “they Call the Wind Maria” from Paint Your Wagon, “Breeze Off the River” from The Full Monty, “Children of the Wind” from Rags, “Tornado” from The Wiz, and “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas as we focus on the Weather today on “well, That’s Show Biz!”.

  • Weather is the theme today and set 1 consisted of songs related to the Wind. Set 2 will focus on Rain and we are going to open with the title song from the London cast album of Singin’ in the Rain. Then we will hear Peter Lawford and Judy Garland singing about “A Fella with an Umbrella” from Easter Parade. And we will conclude this set with “River in the Rain” from Big River. Here’s “Singin’ in the Rain”.

  • Our show today is about the weather and this set concerned Rain. We just heard the title song to Singin’ in the Rain, “A Fella with an Umbrella” from Easter Parade, and “River in the Rain” from Big River.

Since there are many songs about Rain, we will continue with Rain in set 3. We are going to open set 3 with “It’s Raining On Prom Night” from Grease. Next we will hear “Soon It’s Gonna Rain” from The Fantasticks. Then we will hear “A Little Fall Of Rain” from Les Miserables, and we will conclude this set with Lea Michele singing “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from the revival of Funny Girl. Here’s “It’s Raining On Prom Night” from Grease.
