“Well, That’s Show Biz!”

  • Welcome to “well, That’s Show Biz!”. I am your host, Jeremy Freedman, and this is the shown that brings you music from Broadway, Movies, and Entertainers along with some anecdotes, information, and commentary all based on a theme.

  • Last May, I wanted to showcase the song “The Lusty Month of May” from Camelot but what would be the theme? Thus began my series of shows based on The 7 Deadly Sins. May was Lust, July was Pride, August was Sloth, September was Envy, December was Gluttony, January was Greed, and today we conclude the series with Wrath, songs of Anger.

  • Often we feel that Anger is justified but when we hold on to anger, we diminish ourselves.

  • We are going to open our first set with the original Eliza Doolittle, Julie Andrews, singing “Show Me” from My Fair Lady. Next we will hear the original Broadway cast of Camelot singing “Fie on Goodness”. Then Catherine Zeta-Jones and the ladies of the film version of Chicago will regale us with the “Cell Block Tango”.  Here’s “Show Me” from My Fair Lady.

  • We are listening to songs of Wrath today and you just heard “Show Me” from My Fair Lady, “Fie on Goodness” from Camelot, and “Cello Block Tango” from the film version of Chicago.

For Set 2, we are going to open with “Shall I Tell You What I Think of You” from The King and I, then we are going to hear “Smash the Mirror” from The Who’s Tommy. And we will close out the set with Nathan Lane singing “Betrayed” from The Producers. Here’s  “Shall I Tell You What I Think of You” from The King and I.
