February 18, 2025: Migrant Equity, Advocacy and Support

Voices of Reason welcomed Migrant Equity SE (MESE) Communications Coordinator Luisa to the show to discuss Savannah and SE coastal Georgia's response to President Donald Trump's Executive Order for the immediate removal of those in the USA without legal status.   MESE is a Savannah-based non-profit working directly with the SE Georgia immigrant community to advocate for and provide equitable access to resources available to all citizens, such as healthcare, education and mutual aid.   At this time, MESE's focus is on educating the migrant community regarding their rights under the Constitution, the law of the land, who are targeted for detainment and deportation by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agency.  MESE is also training members of the Savannah community to be a silent presence at ICE raids and to assist families of detained/deported persons.

MESE is located at 1116 Montgomery Cross Road, 31406, and can be reached at 912-429-7951 and migrantequitysoutheast@gmail.com.
