April 8, 2025: On MLK and the History We Do Not Learn

Beginning with the assassination of MLK 57 years and 4 days prior, Voices of Reason co-hosts Two and Barbara began a conversation regarding the myths, lies and legends of our history that prevents us from learning from and not repeating it.  From 11/22/63 to 6/4/68. three public figures were assassinated:  JFK, Malcolm X, MLK and RFK.  The events and investigations were flawed, and the country moved on.

We also discussed the lies of settler colonialism, UDA democracy, Texas independence and The Alamo, and the wars, from the Civil War to today.  We brought out the truths that were hidden from us to protect the rich and powerful.  Perhaps if we knew that the four assassinations in that 5 year period all involved the CIA, might we have followed through with JFK's promise the “splinter the C.I.A. in a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds.”   The same is true for wars--very rarely, if at all, were we told the truth about Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq and Ukraine.  Perhaps we the USA might not have intervened or dropped to atomic bombs on civilian populations in Japan.

There are consequences when only the "convenient" truths--the myths, lies and legends and we are living them today 24/7 thanks to social medial.

Join us next Tuesday, April 15, for a discussion about taxes, the USA monetary system, and tax resistance.
