Welcome to “well, That’s Show Biz!”. I am your host, Jeremy Freedman, and this is the show that brings you music from Broadway, Movies, and Entertainers along with some anecdotes, information, and commentary all based on a theme.
Today’s show was pre-recorded.
Today’s show is our 4th Guess The Musical. I will play 3 songs from a musical without giving you any other clues and you have to guess what musical those songs are from. The musical must have at least two separate recordings. For example, besides the original cast recording, there must be at least a film version or a revival that was also recorded.
So let’s start playing, Guess The Musical. Here are the first three songs.
Did you Guess The Musical? You just heard “Baby, Dream Your Dream”, “Where Am I Going?”, and “I Love to Cry at Weddings” all from the 1966 Cy Coleman musical, Sweet Charity.
We are now going to hear Christina Applegate sing “If My Friends Could See Me Now” from the 2005 revival of Sweet Charity.

Did you guess the musical? The Scottish references and dialects should have given it away. You just heard “The Love of My Life”, “Come to Me, Bend to Me”, and “There but for You Go I” from the 1947 Lerner and Loewe musical Brigadoon. By the way, the male singer in that third song was my cousin. Here is the title song from the film version of Brigadoon.
