July 22, 2025: Revolts, Uprisings, Resistance Rising

Voices of Reason and Resistance highlighted revolts and uprising on the African and Asian continents, and then celebrated the upcoming anniversary of el Moviemento vente seis de julio--the movement for independence in Cuba that led to the successful 1959 revolution to take sovereignty back from the USA.

These revolts and uprisings, beginning with the 1776 USA revolution and continuing to today, especially the uprising to end the occupation of Palestinian territories by the state of Israel, offer lessons we must learn if we are to move forward as a people and a planet.

The Cuban revolution, begun on 7/26/53 and concluding on 12/31/59, teaches us that revolutions of the people can only be successful and sustaining when they come from, are executed by, and sustained by the people.   

When you feel the resistance rising in the USA against a capitalist system that denies housing, food and heathcare to the most in need and in the world against western domination of governance and economies of non-western countries and the genocide in Gaza, it is time to put on those thinking caps and figure out how to make this country and this world work for all of us, especially those most in need.  

Next week, as we prepare for back to school in Georgia, we will explore the state of education in the USA and what can be done to preserve what we have and move forward for the next generation and the 7 generations to come.
