Welcome to “well, That’s Show Biz!”. I am your host, Jeremy Freedman, and each week I bring you music from Broadway, Movies, and Entertainers along with some anecdotes, information, and commentary all based on a theme.
Today’s show was pre-recorded.

You just heard Warren Zevon with Werewolves of London, a song featured in the film The Color of Money, which is appropriate for today, which is Howl at the Moon Day. This will also be our Halloween show since Halloween is this Friday and our net show will be two days after. We’ve already moved on to November.
To begin our Halloween show, we start with Richard O’Brien singing “Science Fiction / Double Feature” from the film version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Then we will hear FrEdrick von FrankenstEEn and his creation regale us with “Puttin’ On The Ritz” from the Broadway cast recording of Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein. And I remember running home every day from elementary school to catch the end of the gothic soap opera Dark Shadows. We will conclude the set with its theme song. Here’s “Science Fiction / Double Feature” from Rocky Horror.

It’s Howl at the Moon Day and for our second set we have Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford singing the title song from The Phantom of the Opera. We will follow that with “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the animated Disney film Encanto. And we will conclude this set with “Prelude”, the theme from Psycho. Here’s The Phantom of the Opera.

Today is Howl at the Moon Day and we are going to use this as our Halloween show as the next show is two days AFTER Halloween and I feel that we will already have moved past the scary stuff.
For our third set we begin by featuring the Marvel character of witch Agatha Harkness. First we have the song “Agatha All Along” from the Disney+ show Wandavision. And then “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road” from the sort of sequel Agatha All Along. Then we will hear Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy sing “The Witches Are Back” from Hocus Pocus II. And finally, I wish I could find a recording of Bette Midler performing “I Put a Spell on You” from the original Hocus Pocus. The closest I could find was this version by someone named PattyCake. Here’s “Agatha All Along”.
Today is our pre-Halloween/Howl at the Moon Day show and you just heard “Agatha All Along” from Wandavision, “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road” from Agatha All Along, “The Witches Are Back” from Hocus Pocus II, and “I Put a Spell on You” in the style of Bette Midler originally from the original Hocus Pocus.

I have been reluctant to play this next cut as I didn’t want to give away the ending of this show. But there has been a movie version that has been out since 2007, that’s 18 years. Anyone interested has seen it. So without any further ado, to conclude our show for pre-Halloween/Howl at the Moon Day, here is the “Final Sequence” and conclusion to Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
You just heard the “Final Sequence” and conclusion to Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street which concludes our show for Howl at the Moon Day/Halloween.
