Tonight on Contemporary Classics I have back composer Liza  Lim to talk about another recent album “A Sutured World, Mary Transcendence After Trauma and The Compass” featuring performances by Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra with cellist Nicolas Altstaedt and conductor  Edward Gardner performing the cello concerto  “A Sutured World”;  with Franck Ollu conducting “Mary Transcendence After Trauma” from Liza’s Annunciation Triptych, and “The Compass” conducted by Christoph Poppen with Carin Levine, Flute and William Barton, Didgeridoo.  “A Sutured World, Mary Transcendence After Trauma and The Compass” was released back on Friday, July  25th on the Musica Viva series of BR Klassic Records.  And on December 1st it was announced by the University of Louisville that Liza Lim has won the prestigious  2026 Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition for her visionary cello concerto  “A Sutured World.”
