Welcome to “well, That’s Show Biz!”. I am your host, Jeremy Freedman, and this is the show that brings you music from Broadway, Movies, and Entertainers along with some anecdotes, information, and commentary all based on a theme.
Today is my fourth Anniversary show and the beginning of my 5th year as host of “well, That’s Show Biz!” on WRUU. And as I’ve done every year on the first Sunday in April, today’s show consists of Opening Numbers from Broadway Musicals. So let’s get into it.
We open with the opening number from A Chorus Line, “I Hope I Get It”. Then, Sean Hayes gives us “Half as Big as Life” from the revival of Promises, Promises. We follow that with “Four Jews in a Room Bitching” from Falsettos, And we will conclude this first set with the opening number and title song from Company. For my third set of Opening Numbers, we start with the Prologue and title song from Little Shop of Horrors. After that, we have the song “Skater Planet”, the opening song from Kimberley Akimbo. And we will end this set with “Penniless Bums”, the opening number from Sugar. Here’s Little Shop of Horrors.
