Today is Paranormal Day. Paranormal phenomena are experiences or events that fall outside the bounds of established science. These include things such as ghosts, telekinesis, ESP, and magic. Today’s show highlights musicals that deal with paranormal phenomena.
For our first set we are highlighting The Wizard of Oz. We begin with Judy Garland singing “Over the Rainbow” from the MGM movie The Wizard of Oz. Then we will hear “He’s the Wizard” from the Broadway musical, The Wiz. And we will end the set with Kristin Chenoweth singing “Popular” from Wicked. Here’s “Over the Rainbow”.

Our last set is a five song set and we start off with the opening songs from Brigadoon, a show about a mysterious town in the Scottish Highlands that appears once every hundred years. Next we have the song “I’m Flying” from Peter Pan. Then we will hear “Take Me to the World” from Evening Primrose, a show about a mysterious group of people hiding out in a department store. We will follow that with “When I’m Not Near the Girl I Love” from Finian’s Rainbow, a show that includes a leprechaun and a pot of gold. And we will end with the title song from the ESP musical On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. Here’s Brigadoon.
