  • Today is Mother’s Day and you just heard Meryl Streep singing ABBA’s “Momma Mia” from the film version of the jukebox musical Momma Mia.

  • Today we are celebrating all things Mother with Broadway songs about mothers, by mothers, and to mothers.

  • Our next song has Ann Reinking and ensemble singing “Me and My Baby” from the 1996 revival of Chicago which is still going 30 years later. Then we have “Anybody Have a Map?” from Dear Evan Hansen. And we will finish this set with the rousing “Mama Says (You Can’t Back Down) from Footloose: The Musical. Here’s “Me and My Baby” from Chicago.

  • We have one last song after this set that I am sure that you will want to stick around for. In this set, we begin with Shirley Jones and Pert Kelton arguing during the “Piano Lesson / If You Don’t Mind Me Saying So” from the film version of The Music Man. Then a different sort of Mother’s Day song by Gene Barry, “Look Over There” from La Cage Aux Folles. We follow that with “Momma Look Sharp” from 1776. And we end this set with “Baby Mine” from Dumbo. Remember, we have one last Mother’s Day song after this set. Here’s “Piano Lesson / If You Don’t Mind Me Saying So” from The Music Man.
