Tonight on Contemporary Classics I am talking with composer and flutist Allison Loggins-Hull about two new portrait albums released two weeks apart. The first album Loggins-Hull: The Cleveland Residency which was released a week ago this past Friday April 17 on TCO Media features The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-Möst in the world-premiere recordings of three works created during Allison’s tenure as The Cleveland Orchestra’s Daniel R. Lewis Composer Fellow. The second album, Patchwork which will be released this coming Friday, May 1st on Avie Records brings together a vibrant collection of chamber works resonating with the composer’s signature themes of justice and community.
