July 14, 2026: Why We Don't Rebel: Walk a Mile in Our Shoes

Thank you to Margie Standard for joining co-hosts Jessie Herbert & Barbara Humphrey for this discussion on the 237th anniversary of the storming of the Bastille.  I often wonder what Parisians were talking about on 7/13/1789:  the price of bread, the weather, the cost of housing, or the oppression of the monarchy and what is to be done?

We here in the USA understand that the majority of people living here have to work multiple parttime jobs to pay for the necessities, are housing cost-burdened, are unable to adequately feed our families, have inadequate or no healthcare, and must rely on inadequate public transit.  Yet, we carry on because we have obligations, we are propagandized into believing all is well, we allow ourselves to be distracted by sports and Hollywood, we fear the costs of acting out.  Or we don't carry on, and take out our anger and resentment on each other, rather than direct it where it belongs.  We invited listeners to walk in our shoes and those of friends and family and shared what we do to protest and why we don't rebel.  

We all agreed that first we need to re-educate ourselves and others and tune out the mainstream propagandizing news.  Here are some places we go for truth and commentary on the truth that can be a first step in our re-education:
