Then we are going to hear Cole Porter’s “Friendship” which was originally from his musical Dubarry Was a Lady but has since been added to his musical Anything Goes. After that we will hear “A Friend is Still a Friend” from The Wind in the Willows. And we will finish this set with “Sincerely Me” from the film version of Dear Evan Hansen as nearly friendless Evan asks his pseudo friend to help him create a fake friendship between him and Conner Murphy who had committed suicide through a series of emails. • We are about to close out today’s show for National Friendship Day. We will have one last song after this two song set.

  • First we have the classic song about friendship from the musical Mame. We are going to hear Angela Lansbury and Bea Arthur sing about their friendship with the song “Bosom Buddies”. Then we will hear Bette Midler’s signature song “Friends” which was featured at the end of the Stephen Sondheim scripted mystery movie, The Last of Sheila. Here’s “Bosom Buddies”.

  • You just heard the friendship songs “Bosom Buddies” from Mame and Bette Midler singing “Friends”.

  • Friends are a good thing to have and time can be an enemy of friendship. It is a rare but wonderful thing if childhood friendships can sustain themselves as we grow older. I wonder if the Peanuts gang were allowed to age if their friendships could be sustained. To conclude our show for National Friendship Day, here is the finale, “Happiness” from You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.

  • You just heard “Happiness” from You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown which concludes today’s show for National Friendship Day.
