Evening Eclectic August 9, 2026 Keir GoGwilt and Mariana Flores Bucio - The Zarabanda Variations
Tonight on Evening Eclectic, I a talking with composer and violinist Keir GoGwilt and vocalist Mariana Flores Bucio about the new album The Zarabanda Variations. This project, created by Keir GoGwilt in collaboration with poet Edgar Garcia, explores the history of Baroque music in a different light. The music on this album combines early European and Latin Baroque rhythms with free improvisation, microtonal jazz, and contemporary classical elements.
The Zarabanda Variations was released this past Friday, August 7th on Carrier Records. And a special live concert celebrating the official release of the album will be on Monday, August 31st at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, NY.
