Tonight on Contemporary Classics, I a talking again with violinist, Austin Hartman and violist Mark Holloway of the Pacifica Quartet. The Pacifica Quartet is one of the leading string quartets in the United States exploring both traditional and contemporary voices in the string quartet literature. Today we will be talking about their new album American Portraits was release on this past Friday, October 9th on Cedille Records. This is the third in the trilogy of American albums beginning with American Stories in 2022 featuring clarinetist Anthony McGill and continuing with American Voices in 2024.
