Welcome to “well, That’s Show Biz!”. I am your host, Jeremy Freedman, and each week I bring you music from Broadway, Movies, and Entertainers along with some anecdotes, information, and commentary all based on a theme.

Tomorrow night is Howl At The Moon Night and you just heard the “Prologue” to The Little Shop of Horrors. This represents our Halloween show for 2026.
Each of today’s sets will begin with a classic horror movie theme. See if you can guess the horror movie that that theme comes from.
For this first set, we will follow the horror movie theme with “Science Fiction / Double Feature” from the film version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. And we will end this first set with “Fright of Their Lives” from the musical Beetlejuice. Here’s our first horror movie theme.
Did you know the horror theme? You just heard “Tubular Bells” which was, of course, the theme to The Exorcist. That was followed by “Science Fiction / Double Feature” from the film version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and “Fright of Their Lives” from the musical Beetlejuice.

This is our Halloween show as tomorrow night is Howl At The Moon Night.
We open this second set with a famous horror theme. Then we will hear the song “My Friends” from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, as Mrs. Lovett returns to Sweeney his precious razors. We will follow that with “Welcome to Transylvania” and “Transylvania Mania”, both songs from Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein. And we will close with the song “Halloween” from Be More Chill. Here’s our second horror theme.
Did you get our second horror theme? That was the theme to the classic Hitchcock film, Psycho. After that we heard “My Friends” from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, “Welcome to Transylvania” and “Transylvania Mania”, both songs from Young Frankenstein, and we finished with “Halloween” from Be More Chill as we celebrate tomorrow’s Howl At The Moon Night and Halloween today on “well, That’s Show Biz!”.

Tomorrow Night, Monday, October 26, is Howl At The Moon Night. Since Halloween is Saturday, we are using this opportunity for our Halloween show.
We are starting off each set with a horror movie theme.
After this set’s theme, we have “Murder Capital of the World” from The Lost Boys musical. We will follow that with the title song to the horror musical Carrie, based on the Stephen King book. And we will close the set with “Over At the Frankenstein Place” from the film version of Rocky Horror. You should be able to guess this set’s horror movie theme.
Did you guess this horror movie theme? You just heard the theme from Halloween. However it’s from the 2018 remake. We followed that with “Murder Capital of the World” from The Lost Boys, the title song to the musical Carrie, and “Over At the Frankenstein Place” from Rocky Horror.

This next two song set will be followed by one final song.
We open with our last and hardest horror movie theme to figure out. And then we will close with “When You’re an Addams” from the musical The Addams Family. Remember, we have one final song after this set. Can you guess this horror movie theme?
Did you figure it out? You just heard the main title from Stanley Kubrick’s film of Steven King’s The Shining. That was followed by “When You’re an Addams” from The Addams Family.
And now for our final song. We opened the show with the opening and title song from Little Shop of Horrors. We are going to close with the profanity laced final song that was added to the movie version. I have deleted the worst profanities. Here is the great Levi Strauss, as the plant, Audrey II, singing “Mean Green Mother From Outerspace”.
You just heard “Mean Green Mother From Outerspace” which concludes our Halloween themed show for tomorrow night’s Howl At The Moon Night.
And that concludes this week’s edition of “well, That’s Show Biz!”. If you would like to assist with a future show, send your theme and song suggestions to me at wruushowbiz@gmail.com.
