Contemporary Classics March 5, 2019 - Chartreuse - String Trio Music and Interview with Carrie Frey and Adrianne Murden-Dixon
This is the first show on Contemporary Classics where we are celebrating Women's History Month with a month-long celebration of Women in Contemporary Classical music. Contemporary Classics will be featuring women performers and composers throughout the month.
Tonight we have the three women of the string Trio Chartreuse Carrie Frey, viola; Myra Hinrichs, violin and Helen Newby, cello in performance.And tonight we are talking with both Carrie Frey of Chartreuse and Adrianne Munden-Dixon who is part of several groups including the Savannah Philharmonic and with Carrie Frey is part of the Desdemona Quartet (again 4 women).
Tonight I referred to the two concerts that feature Chartreuse in the Savannah area - and here is the information about both:
Chartreuse will be performing an "On the Verge" concert at the Carol A. Carter Recital Hall on the Statesboro campus of Georgia Southern University next Tuesday March 12th at 7:30 pm. They will be featuring music by Kaija Saariaho, Salvatore Sciarrino and Marcos Balter.
And Adrianne Munden-Dixon will be joining Chartreuse to play Irish music for or arranged for
string quartet. That will be as part of the Live Oaks Concert series
this coming Sunday March 10th at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church at 2716
