The Beginning and End of Poe (and a Few in Between)

This week, Leigh and P. T. join forces with the “master of the short story” … that is, the great (but complicated) Edgar Allan Poe. The American Gothic writer’s first published tale, “Metzengerstein” (1832), was already steeped in Poe’s compositional genius, while his last, presumably unfinished and posthumously titled “The Light-House” (1849), has left readers with one last mystery. Leigh and P. T also try to fit in a few more of Poe’s perhaps lesser-read tales: “MS Found in a Bottle” (1833), “The Man of the Crowd” (1840), and “Thou Art the Man” (1844).
