MUSIC FROM THE WORLD, 31 JULY 2020
Welcome to the 122nd episode of Music From the World. Each week we take a trip around the globe, to find unique music and one of the most eclectic blends you will find anywhere.
The show plays just about any conceivable genre; everything from Opera to Heavy metal, Old classics to Rap, Movie themes to Country, Afrobeat to Salsa, Bossa-nova to classic rock, Polka to Jazz. You name it, i've probably played it.
Thus far, the show has played music in roughly 88 different languages.
This week's broadcast features: American legend Nat King Cole singing in French, an old Chinese movie classic and a beautiful Chinese contemporary ballad, A Belgian country legend, a contemporary love song from Macedonia, Colombian sex symbol Shakira, pop rock from the Philippines; beautiful Pakistani actress, model and singer - Meesha Shafee; a modern German jazz-rock burlesque, famed American vibraphonist Roy Ayers teamed up with Nigerian Afro-beat legend Fela Kuti, a great Indie rock band from the country formerly named Burma, Serbian technical-progressive metal, and Oriental metal, combining traditional Arab music with dropped tuned guitars and double foot petal drums.
