Change Starts Within

Change starts within

For the next 21 days I will be working on 1 thing to improve. What is one thing you would like to work on? Let's work on it together starting September 1st!

Have you ever wanted someone else to change?

Why?

Have you ever considered you may need to change your perspective?

Scripture of the day: Exodus 14:14- “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Quote of the day: Kindness

Positive word of the day:pruning- to cut off or cut back parts of for better shape or more fruitful growth prune the branches.

Pruning is vitally important for us to grow in our walk with God. I’ve found it’s helpful to evaluate my life periodically and ask God to show me if there are things that need to be cut off because they are hindering my relationship with Him.

God loves you so much and He wants to do great things in you and through you. He wants to teach and train you to be kind and gentle, peaceful and patient, loving and forgiving like Him. But you can’t develop that “fruit” on your own. - Joyce Meyer

Walk in Love

Adapted from the resource Starting Your Day Right - by Joyce Meyer

Jesus said, If anyone intends to come after Me, let him deny himself [forget, ignore, disown, and lose sight of himself and his own interests] and take up his cross, and [joining Me as a disciple and siding with My party] follow with Me [continually, cleaving steadfastly to Me] (Mark 8:34 AMPC).

Living a disciplined life and walking in love means laying aside personal feelings, discerning which choice is most important to God in each situation, and then allowing that choice to take priority over the others. Sometimes He’ll call us to set aside what we’re doing for a little while so we can show His love to someone. As Jesus laid down His life for us, He’s asking us to lay down our interests for His greater cause—loving people.

Prayer Starter:Father, please show me what I need to lay down in my life so that I can show Your love to the people around me. Thank You for giving me the wisdom and strength I need to walk in love today. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
