E08: Nick Deffley, Dir of Sustainability, City of Savannah

In this episode of The Parallax View, we interview Nick Deffley, director of the City of Savannah's Office of Sustainability. In this role, Nick is responsible for promoting a healthy, equitable, and economically vibrant community for Savannah’s current and future residents.

The office works closely with internal city operations as well as with local, regional, and national partners focused on the intersection of sustainability, resilience, human health, and social equity.  Before this position, he worked at Step Up Savannah, a local poverty alleviation nonprofit, managing workforce training programming at.  Previously, he developed sustainable building policy and programming for the University of MN – Twin Cities.  Nick currently serves on Healthy Savannah's board, a regional health policy collaborative focused on promoting health equity through policy and systems change.
