The Twenty Year War

A conversation with Beau Simmons, Dan Blakeley, and Tom Amenta

Twenty years ago, the United States pledged to “never forget” 9/11. Whether subsequent political and strategic decisions have been constitutional or moral, when it comes to the “forever wars,” there is a 1 percent of America who aren’t readily remembered: those who have served in the conflicts. This week, photographer Beau Simmons and Army Rangers Dan Blakeley and Tom Amenta join Leigh and Dr. David Lake to talk about their new book that paints in-depth portraits of the veterans of the Global War on Terror — and “what it means to serve both in uniform and out.”
