A. Merc Rustad and Heather Morris
In 1666, Margaret Cavendish wrote The Blazing-World, the first recorded sci-fi book by a female author. She was followed by Mary Shelley, Ursula K. Le Guin, and many others. Over the past thirty years, the contributions of women to the genre have become recognized — inspiring a new generation of authors in what was once thought a male-only preserve. This week and next, Leigh, P. T., and Dr. C examine some stories by contemporary writers, starting with A. Merc Rustad and Heather Morris.
