• Welcome to “well, That’s Show Biz!”. I am your host, Jeremy Freedman, and each week I bring you music from Broadway, Movies, and Entertainers along with some anecdotes, information, and commentary all based on a theme.

• That, of course, was the theme to the movie Halloween and Halloween is our theme today. You are going to hear songs from movies, TV, and Broadway all related to the horror genre.

• We are going to open our first set with Richard O’Brien singing the opening song “Science Fiction / Double Feature” from the film soundtrack of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Then we are going to hear the great Levi Stubbs and cast sing “Suppertime” from the film version of Little Shop of Horrors. And we are going to conclude with Topol relating “Tevye’s Dream” from the film soundtrack of Fiddler on the Roof in which he is visited by a benevolent spirit and then an evil one.  Here’s Rocky Horror.

• Halloween is in a couple of days so we are listening to songs of the horror genre. We are going to start this set with Josh Groban and company singing “The Ballad of Sweeney Todd” from the 2023 Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd. Next, we are going to hear Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy sing “The Witches Are Back” from Hocus Pocus 2. Then, from the Marvel TV show WandaVision, we are going to learn that it was the witch “Agatha All Along”. And finally, we are going to hear the title song to The Phantom of the Opera. Here’s “The Ballad of Sweeney Todd”.
