  • Welcome to “well, That’s Show Biz!”. I am your host, Jeremy Freedman, and each week I bring you music from Broadway, Movies, and Entertainers along with some anecdotes, information, and commentary all based on a theme.

  • March is Women’s History Month so today’s show will showcase an eclectic mix of notable women in history.

  • We are going to open with the opening number of a show that turned the six wives of Henry VIII into hip hop queens. The cast album was recorded on opening night of the show. Then we will hear “The New Century Walk” from a show about Eleanor Roosevelt called Eleanor: An American Love Story. And we will conclude this set with Adrienne Warren singing “(Simply) The Best” from the jukebox musical Tina: The Tina Turner Musical. Here’s “Six” from Six.

  • We are celebrating the start of Women’s History Month with an eclectic mix of songs from shows about famous women even if some of the shows are fictionalized. We are going to open the second set with Julie Andrews, as Maria Von Trapp, and the Von Trapp children singing “Do-Re-Mi” from The Sound Of Music. Then we are going to hear the song “Daughters Of” from an odd show called First Daughter Suite about the daughters of Presidents Nixon, Carter, Ford, Reagan, and Bush. And we will close with Barbra Streisand as entertainer Fanny Brice singing “People” from Funny Girl. Here’s “Do-Re-Mi”.
