Welcome to “well, That’s Show Biz!”. I am your host, Jeremy Freedman, and every week I bring you music from Broadway, Movies, and Entertainers along with some anecdotes, information, and commentary all based on a theme.
Our theme today is Earth Day which is tomorrow April 22nd. Today’s show deals with various aspects of our home planet and how it is up to us to care for it.
We are going to open with the title song to Jerry Herman’s Dear World. Next we will hear Justin Guarini singing “I Talk to the Trees” from Paint Your Wagon. Then, Bernadette Peters sings “I Remember” originally from Stephen Sondheim’s Evening Primrose, and we will close out the set with John Cullum singing “On a Clear Day” from the original production of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. Here’s Angela Lansbury with “Dear World”.

Tomorrow is Earth Day and we are celebrating it here today with songs about the Earth.
Starting off our second set is the song “Africa Calling” by my former singing partner, Danny Adlerman, from his award winning children’s album One Size Fits All. Then we will hear my cousin, Ethan Freeman, sing “The Heather On the Hill” from the 1995 London Studio Cast Recording of Brigadoon. And we will close the set with “Muddy Water” from Big River - The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Here’s “Africa Calling”.
