You just heard Julie Andrews, as Queen Guenevere, singing the “Lusty Month of May” from Camelot. And as a queen, she gets to open today’s show of songs that involve Royalty.
We are going to open our first set with Jonathan Groff, as King George III, singing “You’ll Be Back” from Hamilton. After that, we will hear “Queen Lucy” from You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Then we will hear Richard Burton, as King Arthur, sing “I Wonder What the King Is Doing Tonight” from Camelot. And we will finish this set with Richard Kiley singing the beautiful title song to The Little Prince. Here’s King George and “You’ll Be Back” from Hamilton.

We are listening to songs about or sung by royalty today and opening our second set we have Wilfrid Hyde-White and Rex Harrison singing “You Did It” from the film version of My Fair Lady as they brag about making their nemesis believe that Eliza Doolittle was a princess. Then we will hear Prince Charming and his brother prince sing about their respective romantic pursuits of Cinderella and Rapunzel in the comedic comical song “Agony” from Into The Woods. And then to affirm their character or lack of character, we will hear their reprise as they discover Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. The reprise was unfortunately left out of the movie version of Into The Woods. Here’s “You Did It” from My Fair Lady.
