  • Today is June 23rd which is “Let It Go Day” and you heard “Let It Go” from the Broadway musical Frozen. We are going to celebrate “Let it Go Day” with Belting Songs. Every show basically has at least one song that is belted out, so today we are going to heat some classic Belting Songs as well as some newer ones.

  • We are going to open this set with the ultimate Broadway belter, Ethel Merman, singing “Blow, Gabriel Blow” originally from Cole Porter’s Anything Goes. This version is with the London Festival Orchestra and Chorus. Then we are going to hear another classic, Mary Martin singing “Johnny One Note” from Rodgers and Hart’s Babes In Arms. And we will close out the set with John Cullum chewing the scenery  with “I Rise Again” from On The Twentieth Century. Here’s Ethel Merman belting out “Blow, Gabriel Blow”.
