Today on Four Centuries of Great Music I a featuring new classical music album releases from May and June of this year.

I am opening the show today with a cut from a recently released album of the music of  Gabriel Fauré.  With 2024 being the 100th anniversary of Gabriel Fauré’s death, I do expect several more albums of the music of Gabriel Fauré to be released.  We are opening with a performance  of Gabriel Fauré’s Ballade, Op. 19 (Version for Piano and Orchestra) as performed by Guillaume Bellom, piano and Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne conducted by Renaud Capuçon    from the album Renaud Capuçon - Gabriel Fauré    Deutsche Grammophon    released on June 21st    13:19
