You are listening to [Station ID].
Welcome to “well, That’s Show Biz!”. I am your host, Jeremy Freedman, and every week I bring you music from Broadway, Movies, and Entertainers along with some anecdotes, information, and commentary all based on a theme.
We are going to try something new today. Hopefully it will work. Today’s theme is Guess The Musical. I am going to play songs from a musical and, from the songs alone, you have to guess what show they are from.
Now for this to work, you cannot look at the song info that may appear on your radio or appear on the website. The name of the show might appear in the info. If you want to play, you have to look away and use your ears alone. Also, due to FCC rules, the shows I have selected today must have at least two different recordings such as original and revival. If you are ready, let’s get to the first musical.
We are going to hear three songs from this first musical.
<Play Guess The Musical 1>
Did you Guess The Musical? You just heard “Where’s My Shoe?”, “Tonight at Eight”, and “Grand Knowing You” all from the Harnick And Bock musical, She Loves Me about a woman whose secret pen pal is her male coworker that she despises. Here’s the title song, “She Loves Me”.
You just heard the title song from She Loves Me, the first of our Guess The Musical shows.
Remember, If you want to play, don’t look at the info that might appear on your radio or the website. No peeking.
We are going to hear another three songs from this next musical. Here they are.
