September 10, 2024--Remembering 9/11/01

Do you remember where you were when two planes flew into the World Trade Center towers in NYC on 9/11/01?  What a difference that day made and continues to make in the USA 23 years later.

9/11 was a tragedy that ushered in a greater tragedy--the war on terror:  passage of repressive acts such as the Patriot Act, invasion of two foreign countries in west Asia, hate crimes against Muslims, increased surveillance, and use of the word designate persons as foreign terrorists targeted for assassination or domestic terrorists targeted for criminalization, such as Atlanta's Cop City protestors.
