September 17, 2024--Viva de la Independencia Mexico

On September 16, 1820, Fr. Hidalgo read the Grito de Delores, or cry of Delores, proclaiming Mexico free of Spanish rule.  Independence was gained in 1821, and yearly on September 16, the President and Governors of the 31 states read the Grita followed by three shouts of Viva Mexico.  Albert and I got to experience this amazing celebration in 2019 and live the Mexican life for one year together.  

On this show, we talk about Mexico's "discovery" by Hernan Cortez, its heroic struggle for independence, and all it has become since that time.  Viva Mexico!
