Spring began here in Savannah on Thursday, March 20th, at 5:01 am EDT. This week’s show is dedicated to Spring.
For our first set we start by saying goodbye to winter with “Winter’s on the Wing” from The Secret Garden. And we will follow that with “There Will be Sun” from Groundhog Day The Musical. And we will end with “Springtime For Hitler” from the original film version of The Producers. Here’s “Winter’s on the Wing” from The Secret Garden.
We are celebrating the start of Spring today and you just heard “Winter’s on the Wing” from The Secret Garden, “There Will be Sun” from Groundhog Day The Musical, and “Springtime For Hitler” from The Producers.
To begin our second set, we have Jonathan Groff and the 2015 cast of A New Brain singing the finale, “I Feel so Much Spring”. Then, Rodgers and Hart wrote a 1938 musical comedy called I Married an Angel. We are going to hear Frank Sinatra sing their song “Spring Is Here”. We will Follow that with “Spring, Spring, Spring” from the film Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. Next we will hear “Edelweiss” from the film version of The Sound of Music. This was the last song that Oscar Hammerstein wrote before his death. And we will end the set with Barbea Streisand singing “Hurry! It’s Lovely Up Here” from the film version of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. Here’s “I Feel so Much Spring” from A New Brain.
