September 23, 2025: The Art of Making Art
On this 104th episode of Voices of Reason and Resistance, hosts Opollo Johnson and Barbara Humphrey welcomed Arthur Shuey, Omari Fox and Andrew Sovine to talk about art and its many grassroots manifestations in the Savannah community.
These visual and performing artists discussed their art and the grassroots art scene as it plays out on the streets and in the various venues in Savannah.
In addition, we highlighted upcoming events, including the Housing Authority of Savannah public meeting regarding Yamacraw Village. The public is invited to join the Residents Council and HAS members to talk about the future of Yamacraw, not just its buildings but the community that began in 1941. This meeting will be held at the Union Mission, 125 Falm Street on Thursday, September 25 at 5:15.
On Saturday, September 27, the Yamacraw Residents Council will hold a bake sale at Yamacraw Village to from 10-5 to benefit its upcoming Halloween and other events.
Please also consider registering for the Rooted Ummah 5K for Peace on Saturday, October 4. More information can be found at https://www.rootedummah.org.
There is something about the Savannah community that cries "come out, get involved," and here at Voices of Reason and Resistance, we will try to bring you information on so many ways to get involved.
