After that, we will hear Gene Barry and George Hearn sing “With You On My Arm” from La Cage Aux Folles. Then Julie Andrews sings “I Loved You Once in Silence” from Camelot. And we will close the set with “As Long As He Needs Me” from the original production of Oliver!. Here’s “Love Changes Every Thing”.

Valentine’s Day was yesterday so we are continuing our celebration, as we do every year, with Love Songs.
We are going to begin this 5 song set with “It Takes Two” from the film version of Hairspray. Then we will hear Stephen Sondheim sing his song “Love Is In The Air”, a song which was cut from A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. We will follow that with the song “With You” from Pippin. Then we will hear Robert Preston sing “Loving You”, a song which was added to the film version of Mame so that he would have another song to sing. And we will end this 5 song set with Shirley Jones singing “Till There Was You” from the film version of The Music Man. Here’s “It Takes Two” from Hairspray.

Our next to last set of love songs is going to be a little different. We are going to hear two songs about unrequited love but from two different angles.
First we are going to hear Paul Mccrane sing his song “Is It Okay If I Call You Mine?”, a song of unrequited love, from the movie Fame. Then we will hear Robert Preston sing “I Won’t Send Roses” from Mack & Mabel. Here’s “Is It Okay If I Call You Mine?”.
You just heard “Is It Okay If I Call You Mine?” from Fame and “I Won’t Send Roses” from Mack & Mabel, two very different types of Love Songs.
And now for our final Love Song, we have a song that describes what the world would be like “Without Love”. Here is the cast of the film version of Hairspray.
You just heard “Without Love” from Hairspray which concludes today’s show of Love Songs.
