February 24, 2026: Hindsight Film Festival

Pat Longstreth, director of the first (and hopefully annual) Hindsight Film Festival was a guest on February 24 to talk about the upcoming festival here in Savannah on March 4-8.  The festival features a number of historical documentaries on a wide variety of subjects at various venues in and near Savannah.

The festival opens on March 4 with an 11am screening of Behind the Lines featuring letters found and preserved by Andrew Carrol, free to the public at 11 am at the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum north. of Savannah.   NPR's Democracy Now host Amy Goodman will attend Saturday's film Steal This Story Please.  In addition to films on the subjects of baseball; black history heroes, sheroes and stories; there will be a filmmaker workshop and two walking tours.

More information about the Hindsight Festival and where and how to buy tickets can be found at https://www.hindsightfilmfestival.com.

During the second hour, hosts Robo and Barbara talked about our history, so much which is not the truth but myths, lies and legends designed to retell stories that portray powerful people and countries in a favorable light.

Next week, VoR will extend Black History Month into March to talk about unsung black medical heroes and sheroes, and to talk about the racialization of medicine and healthcare in the USA.
