Tonight on Contemporary Classics I have composer Daniel Bernard Roumain, librettist Marc Bamuthi Joseph and music director of the Albany Symphony Orchestra David Alan Miller who together have created the new album “Forgiveness”. Forgiveness poses the question “Can democracy survive without forgiveness?’ by taking us through four stages of forgiveness: Redemption, Reconciliation, Discernment, and Grace. “Forgiveness” was released back in August on Bright Shiny Things. This is a remarkable, compelling, and vital work that we need so much at this time in our nation’s history.
