USexit

Imagine, if you will, a land where people live in harmony with each other and the earth.  It is certainly not the USA.  We live in disharmony--blasting and burning the earth to produce scraps and fighting and cheating each other for those scraps.   We see our last few drops of humanity being driven from us as we fight for justice in the market place and on the streets.  We understand that even if our "save the earth" efforts shrank our own carbon footprint, they have no impact on saving a dying earth.

Last week, Dr. Guy McPherson offered his solution:  find  place where you can find your humanity, in harmony with those around you and the earth.  It certainly isn't the US, where we are killing millions all over the world spreading terror not democracy and bankrupting any opportunity to be human.  But where is it?  And how do you find it  

Is USexit the first step in finding a place where the grass is greener, the people more humane?  Or is it the Twilight Zone--a path of folly because "this is the greatest country in the world" and we know it is human greed not strictly American greed that is driving the humanity from us all--the drive to squander tomorrow's resources for today's gain and to spread terror with every bullet fired, every drone piloted, every bomb dropped?    

Is it time to become part of the human flow--that 65+ million of us who are leaving our homelands, many by necessity but some by choice, fleeing imminent death of our bodies, our minds and/or our souls?
