Love Thy Neighbor
Good Morning Good People, thank you for tuning into my show Zeal Reel where we help ourselves to form more positive thoughts which helps eliminate negative thoughts mixing some jazz, gospel, and R&B in between. This week’s show is Love Thy Neighbor (we need more love and kindness in this world), but I will elaborate more on that later. Today we will start with the positive quote of the day.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” That quote was from the late and loving Martin Luther King Jr.
A little later in the show I will give you the positive word for the day. Next is a song by Matt Maher-What a Friend then I will take it back with one of Dottie Peoples’ songs, He’s An on Time God.
I hope you enjoyed that last song, it is an old classic that some of us may have forgotten about. Doesn’t it just truly make you grateful for all God has done for you. It makes me think about all the times God has been right on time in situations that I had no idea what would happen. But that is called faith right?
Last show’s positive word was amiable, which is having or displaying a friendly or pleasant manner. This week’s word is:
Amicable which derives from Late Latin amicabilis meaning friendly which is one of a set of English words used to suggest cordial relationships. Amicable is neighborly, companionable and friendly all marked or exhibiting good will and an absence of antagonism. If you would like to use amicable in a sentence here is an example. The relationship between the stepfather and kids is an amicable one. When I saw this word I wondered what it could mean since its so close to amiable. Once I read the definition it made me think of how you can love someone and not even know them or just care for their well being or just to display acts of kindess.
Amicable refers to a friendliness or goodwill between people or groups. Amiable refers to one person's friendly disposition. A group might have an amicable meeting, because the people there are amiable. Amicable refers to the connections between people or things, like a friendly situation with a crowd. I’m sure we all have had some distasteful encounters with people and may have even let the encounter bother us so much that we lingered on with the problem in in our minds and hearts . The encounter could’ve caused animosity, but when you think about it, What good is that? Antagonism should be avoided and a more positive outlook should be presented. When you aim to perceive things differently it helps rectify a situation rather than acting out of emotion. There could simply be a misunderstanding of each other’s words. Presenting one’s self in a more positive manner will help alleviate any negative energy that could’ve surfaced. With that being said instead of holding animosity towards someone that has done you wrong, love them and forgive them. Take it from me, its no fun holding on to something that someone else did, it isn’t good for your mental, emotional or physical well being. All it did was cause more pain and confusion within myself.
So please, let Go, Let God and Love Thy Neighbor.
