When The Moon Sings - October 13, 2018

This week we start with one of Adam Hurst's moody cello pieces.  This one seems lighter than some of the others, but is it really?  We have some new names with new recordings too - Gary Schmidt and Monica Williams.  Gary plays introspective piano, with some help from flutist Sherry Finzer, who operates Heart Dance Records when she's not recording.  Monica is interesting - her favorite flute is the alto flute with the Briccialdi Zi headjoint, which gives the flute characteristics of the traditional Chinese DiXi flute.  It actually turns the flute into a reed instrument.  We also have the terrific guitarist Yamandu Costa, Stan Getz, and a softer tune from the soundscape/guitar dup of Bella Sonus.  And P. T. Bridgeport will report on what disturbed his Wa this week.
