When The Moon Sings - December 1, 2018
This week: Fiona Joy, her piano, and the view from her studio; David Helpling, who is alone on the shore, The Brooklyn Duo (cello and piano) with the music from Downton Abbey (which is probably a long commute from Brooklyn). Also, the Dallas String Quartet interprets Coldplay and so much else. P. T. finally finishes digesting Thanksgiving dinner and casts a wary eye on the holiday ahead.
Since the holiday season is now officially underway, I’m going to tell you about a special event. WRUU is getting together with the Savannah Art Association’s Gallery on Chippewa Square. The event is at the Gallery, and we’ll have light refreshments, an opportunity to look at a wide variety of art, and Brian Renner will be there to spin some tunes. There will be a raffle of small artwork, with a portion of the proceeds going to WRUU. In addition, for every person who walks in the door, WRUU will get a headcount donation. I’ll be there too, and maybe Brian will let me pick a tune or two.
All of that is on December 6th, which is a Thursday, from 5 to 8 pm. The Gallery is on the same side of the square as the Savannah Theater – in the corner by the Fire restaurant. Come on down, meet the WRUU folks, and maybe go home with a piece of good art.
