When The Moon Sings - December 15, 2018
Music from all over this week - Opa Tsupa with gypsy swing revival from France, the Dane Jacob Gurevitsch and his guitar with a song about France, Clint Mansell of Coventry with the Kronos Quartet from San Francisco, the Brooklyn Duo with piano and cello, and orchestral and electronic music from David Helpling and Roger Eno. I've also got a little Christmas music from the Piano Guys, albeit much more cello than piano.
Opa Tsupa started mixing gypsy themes with straight 30's swing, and have gone from there to infuse jug band music, klezmer, and Hawaiian influences among many others. The violinist calls himself Kim Dan The Oc Mach, and he is joined by a double bass and three multi-talented players of guitars, banjos, mandolins, and those instruments. If you find more of their music, that's Weasel doing the vocals.
Also this week, PT examines magical thinking.
