When The Moon Sings - February 9, 2019

The British have a fine mystery series call Broadchurch, and Olafur Arnalds has provided the background music for it.  His Icelandic sensibilities seem well-suited for the purpose, and this week, the tune is Broadchurch: The Final Chapter.  We have also have Arno Elias and his Euro-ethno-pop from the Buddha Bar, more Michael Waters with his fascinating guitar work, and William Tyler.

We checked out William Tyler because his music was featured in the Wall Street Journal, a daily not known for its coverage of arts and entertainment - a friend sent the article to me.  He calls himself a composer who plays guitar, but he has a gift for execution as well as composition.  In this album, he has the backing of a group that seems to be in tune with his playing.  The article notes that he is moving to Nashville, and his tunes seem to have a country and western flavoring, so that sounds like a good idea.  I like his music now, and it will be interesting to see how he develops.

This week P. T. celebrates the annual return of the mosquitoes to Fort Pulaski.
