Time to Abolish the War on Drugs
Drugs are big, big, big, business for those in the Prison Industrial Complex, after all making money is their priority. Today one quarter of all prisoners are incarcerated for drug offenses. The US declared a 'War in Drugs' in 1971 prohibiting manufacturing, sale and use of drugs such as Marijuana, heroin, peyote and LSD and limiting other drugs such as opium.
The War on Drugs has and is still a war on people of color, the poor, political dissidents and a form of population control. When and how will we abolish this war and make peace with drugs?
