The official groundbreaking for the new arena is in just a few weeks and an important workshop on the Canal District is scheduled for Thursday, August 22. The information and feedback obtained during the workshop will be used to add details to the current master plan for the project. Wayne has three key individuals coming in to discuss the importance of preserving existing neighborhoods as the project unfolds.  Bridget Lidy, Director of Planning and Urban Design for the City of Savannah; Chester Ellis, Chatham County Commissioner, District 8 and president, Historic Carver Village Neighborhood Association; and Pastor Marsha Buford, president, West Savannah Neighborhood Association.
