Four Centuries of Great Music  Hilton Head Symphony 2024-25

Today on Four Centuries of Great Music  I am featuring some of the music that was played as part of the 2024-2025 Season of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra.  I will be opening with Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1, Op. 26, G minor. It was performed last October 20th and 21st as part of the first concert of the season featuring Melissa White, Violin with John Morris Russell, Conducting the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra.   It is in three movements:

Today on Four Centuries of Great Music  I am featuring some of the music that was played as part of the 2024-2025 Season of the Hilton Head Symphony.  During the second concert of the season on November 10th and 11th, they played Duke Ellington’s  Suite from The River in a performance conducted by John Morris Russell.  This is an extraordinary orchestral suite tracing the life of a river in seven movements.

In the fourth concert of the 2024-2025 Season on January 19th and 20th the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra performed Gabriel Fauré Elegy, Op. 24 for cello and orchestra with cellist Sharon Robinson and Jaime Laredo, conducting
